I wanted to let you know why I've been unavailable these last couple of days. I've had to take a few days off to clear my head and reevaluate my priorities.
I started this blog back in May, as an experiment. I wanted to see if clipping coupons would really be worth the time and energy. If you've been following me long enough, you know that it is. Just in the last few months, I've saved around $3,000 and have been able to cut my weekly grocery budget significantly. I would say that is a successful experiment!
Very quickly, my blog grew. It grew into more than I even imagined it would when I started it. I am truly blessed to have helped thousands of people and I have LOVED reading every single email and comment each day. It has brought so much encouragement into my life in a time where I've needed it. Thank you for being the best fans ever! :)
I've had to take a real close look at the original reason that I started the blog. It was an experiment. It has now turned into somewhat of a job. It is quite a bit of work to bring you the best deals several times a day. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE doing it, but lately it has become a bit stressful. I have 4 very young children who need me. I feel like I've really had to split my time between them and the site.
My husband and I made a commitment when we got married that we would do whatever it took for me to stay home with the kids. It's taken some adjustments for us over the years. We don't eat out, or shop a lot. We get by with what we have and clipping coupons has helped that tremendously. Just recently, I feel like I've become a work at home mom. God brought me back to that time in our marriage when we made that commitment to him and to each other. The whole goal of me staying home is so that I can invest into their little lives daily. I committed to make my children my full-time job and most importantly, my ministry. I feel like God wants to help me get back on track with that commitment.
So, it is with a VERY heavy heart that I tell you that I will be needing to step down from being Coupon Clippin' Mama. This is very hard for me, but my kids and husband are the number one priority in my life right now. They are only this little once and I don't want to have any regrets on my time with them. This is such a special season of life where they are home all day. Before I know it, they'll all be in school. Like I said, I don't want to miss out on these very precious years with them. I don't think I'll ever look back and say "Wow, I wish I would have worked more". I want to be able to say that I did everything in my power to love my kids and spend lots of great quality time investing into them.
I will definitely still be clipping coupons and getting great deals and I hope you will still continue on your journey. There are plenty of other money saving blogs out there, so I won't leave you hanging. These are some of my favorite ladies and I know they'll bring you the latest and greatest deals just like I was:
Faithful Provisions
The Mommy Trade
Tomorrow's Plight
Moms By Heart
My Frugal Adventures
Deal Seeking Mom
Money Saving Mom
918 Coupon Queen
and MANY more.....
I want to close with saying a big "Thank You" to every single one of you who have made this experiment so fun and so encouraging. Without you, CCM, wouldn't have become what it is today! I may be back someday, but only time will tell. In the meantime, keep clipping those coupons and saving LOTS of money!
Sincerely,
Amy (Aka - Coupon Clippin' Mama)

Thank you for being such a great resource!
I'd still love to continue to see your specific deals. Like you said, there are sooo many other great guide blogs out there.
I use my blog to show the deals I've gotten through the guides from your and other blogs. Just pictures and transaction breakdowns. It's alot of fun, but doesn't require nearly as much effort as I'd imagine the way you've currenly been doing your blog.
Whatever you decide, I wish you the best!!
What a wonderful entry to read. I am so proud of you and completely support you in your decision to focus on your family right now. I agree that is where your energy should be. And I know in the long run you will be happier with your choice to be present with your children and husband. There is a time and a season, and your little ones are growing up NOW. Thank you for your example in taking care of yourself, marriage, and children. Way to change your life...as easy as that! Best wishes and thank you for this inspirational entry!
Much admiration, Joy

I've really enjoyed your blog and check it daily, so I'm sad to see you go. However, your motivations are so honorable. Best wishes to you and your family!
You will be missed!!
I admire you for making this decision for your family. You are so right about where your priorities should be. I love your blog, but I completely understand your need to step down. Enjoy those babies!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I struggle all the time with making my children my priority during these first few years of their lives. You've inspired me to re-evaluate how I'm spending my time and to make sure I'm serving my family before anything else.
Thank you for sharing your time and energy with all of us. All of your hard work has been appreciated. :)
I'm very new to couponing and your site has been extremely helpful and a great resource for NorCal newbies like myself. (It seems like most deals are in the midwest or on the east coast.) I am certainly sad to hear you are stepping back, but you need to do what is best for you and your family. You have nothing but respect and appreciation from me. Take care.
Well, I am happy to have been a part of your blog, by commenting when I could or just looking for your ideas/great deals. God bless you and your family. I am sad to see you go (tears), but I truly understand where your priorities lie.
I have LOVED your blog and I am wholeheartedly with you!! I was thinking about how time consuming this must have been for you!!! GOD BLESS YOU AMY! You are right on and God will bless you for it.
Good for you Amy! God bless you and your family! :-)
I totally understand and you have to do what's right for you and your family. I'll still be listing my Target match ups on Fridays on my site so stop by when you have a minute and say hi. I wish you all the best!!!!!!
good luck amy!! never miss on the kids wonder years. when theyre all grown up, we will probably see you blogging again. thanks for your time!
God Bless U Amy and your family, U will be missed greatly and um I was looking forward to your BIG Kmart post lol :) Thanks for all that you did and now you make me rethink all I do? Miss U already and have fun in all your adventures
You have definitely made a very good decision, FAMILY ALWAYS FIRST. I'm new at couponing, but I found your site by accident and it was the very first I always turned to. I wish you much happiness with your family and your precious little ones! GOD BLESS
Just in the past few weeks I had to make the same self assessment. I have a 6mo old and have a full time job as an Exec that was taking up 14hrs a day 7 days a week! I let my company know that I couldn't do it anymore and I am so happy that I did! I feel good about making this decision for my family and I completely understand where you are coming from! God Bless you and your fam! I loved your blog - You will be missed!
Oh Amy... this really hits home. I've been thinking seriously about why and if I should keep blogging too. It takes great courage, humility, and strength to give up something you treasure and take proud in - even though you treasure and take pride in your family even more.
I wish I could hug you now.
Please keep in touch, and I would love to have you as a guest-blogger if you get the occasional bug to write!
Sincerely,
Jamie
The coupon and blogging network will miss you greatly!!!!

We miss you already!
Miss Thrifty
SO happy for you! This is exactly why I don't start a blog myself! I did have a question though. Which of the other blogs you posted are in Nor Cal? Thanks!
Oh, Amy, I've only just met you and I MISS you ALREADY! ☺ However, you are RIGHT in the choice you made. Your FIRST "calling" (or mission field) is your husband/children/HOME. There is absolutely NOTHING better you can do for your children than to be there for them. This is a decision you will NEVER regret!! (We lost a son to cancer 2 1/2 years ago.. I DON'T and will NEVER regret that I have been with them since birth)
Keep your eyes on JESUS, keep LOVING and helping your hubby, and enjoy those babies while you've got em underfoot! ☺
Amy, I agree completely with all the above posts. Without your help getting started in couponing, I would have been overwhelmed and have long given up. I feel like you've given me the tools to work with and like a baby bird, I can fly without you (hopefully). You are an inspiration to all of us stay-at-home moms trying to be good stewards of our husband's hard earned money. Thank you for everything. Many blessings,
Rachael
I have enjoyed your blog very much and hate to see you go but i completely understand. I too decided to stay home when my 2 girls when they were young so i wouldn't miss a single thing! One just graduated high school(it goes by entirely too fast) and the other is 12 now and that is one regret that i will never have! I just started following these blogs back in April and cannot believe the money i have saved. The great finds, deals and coupons are awesome. I do have one regret though and that is that i didn't start doing this a long time ago! Thanks for all that you did in bringing us the latest and greatest deals! Love those little ones and have fun w/ them because like i said it goes by entirely too fast!
THANK YOU for bringing us all such a great blog! Your blog has been by far my favorite!!! Your blog will be missed but I understand your priorities. There are few things in life as precious and fulfilling as our children. Enjoy them! God Bless you and yours!
Aww. Your going to be missed. I am so happy for you though. :) Thank you for introducing me to coupons and for helping me save soo much money. I wish I knew about coupons 3 years ago. GOD BLESS you and your family.

I wanted to let you know I blogged about your decision even though I know it is not an easy one I feel in Gods eyes you are doing the best.
Are you children in preschool? Maybe you could split the blogging days with a friend?
Anyway sad to see you go please read my post:

You will definitely be missed. But I totally understand. It seems like God has helped you with your priorities. I could definitely use some help in that area.
Thanks so much for the hard work you put into your blog.
I am seriously overwhelmed by all the wonderful comments and emails. Thank you so much for all of your support and encouragement!
As far as nor cal deals go, Charlene @ My Frugal Adventures is your gal!

Thank you sooo much for all the work that you have done for us. I have always said I have no idea how all of you that do these sites have the time, but I am thankful. God bless you and your family.
I will greatly miss your blog, I know how things can become quite overwhelming, especially when doing things online. Most important your children and your family. I have 3 children and I spend a LOT of time reading blogs trying to learn all there is to saving money, so I can only imagine the time you spent actually doing it.
Best of luck to you and yours.
Good for you. If there were more mothers in this world like you, I think this place would be better. I know it is not always easy to do the right thing. Good for you though.
You are so wise to put your family first! Thank you so much for everything that you have done. May God bless and honor you for being obedient to HIM.
You are doing what is right! I gave up a business last year to do the same thing with my kiddos. You will not regret it. You will feel so much more free, too. Congrats!
While I understand, I am sad to see you go. Peace be with you on this next adventure you chose. You will be missed.
I have to agree with u. Couponing is very time consuming. So i can only imagine how much time it takes to run ur own blog. Ur blog was one of my favorites that i checked on a daily basis. I got many great deals from ur blog. It is sad to hear that u will be steppin down as Coupon Clippin Mama, but i agree with u that family comes first. They r only young once and u dont want to miss out on anything. May God bless u and ur family. I wish u all the best. U will truley be missed.
God bless you, Amy....you have made the right choice.....now my children are grown and I am a grandma.....but I don't regret those homeschooling yrs and time spent with family.

Denise (a pastor's wife in NC)
I will certainly miss you, but you need to do this for your children. Having my mom at home with me meant the world to me. Have fun =)
Thanks so much for all you have done. I knew it had to take up lots of your time. I often wondered how you did it all. Thanks again for sharing all your info and I hope everything works out great for you all. Your a true blessing!!
You are awesome, and your kids and husband should absolutely come first!! Enjoy your time with them and we will all be here when you return!!!! Thank you for all you have done for all of us!!!!!
Your blog has been an inspiration to me since I started following it a few months back! It's absolutely amazing to me how detailed your posts all were and just how much info. you were able to share with us! I have a "Family Blog" and THAT keeps me busy enough! I can only imagine how much time you were spending doing all that you have done! Thank you so very much for posting everything that you have to help all of us out! You and your family will be in many thoughts and prayers. You are making the absolute RIGHT decision! Don't ever doubt that!!! (I'm sure that I'm not alone in saying that we'd love to follow a smaller-more personal family blog if you should decide to do one of those!!! :o)
You will be missed greatly!! Thank you for helping me start my money saving coupon craze! I really enjoyed reading everything on your blog, down to your good bye letter. Anyone interested in taking over for you?? Enjoy your family, enjoy life!!!
I will miss your blog so much.. but family is a priority. God Bless you!
Thanks for all your work and time spend in CCM.
I wish you all the best as I know myself that blogging deals is a full time job. I spend 40 hours or more a week on my blog going through emails not so nice comments sometimes. May God bless you for helping others learn to save money in these tough tims.
Thank you for a wonderful ride! God bless you on your continued journey.
Sorry to see you go. You will be missed. I understand how you feel. Kids grow up so fast. I can't believe mine started school this year. It seemed like she was just born.
You have inspired so many of us to coupon clip and I wish you many happy memories with your kiddos!! Though I must say I will really miss ALL your great tricks and deals and will be checking into the other sites you recommend!! God bless you and your family!!
Dearest CCM - such mixed emotions. I have thoroughly LOVED checking your blog sometimes 5 times a day. You have inspired and helped me so much! I am so happy for you that you get to stay at home with your children. I recently was blessed to become a stay at home mom and love it. God bless and hope to see you back again someday when the timing is right. Take care, Nancy
God bless you and thank you for sharing good deals. You will be missed....
I am really going to miss you and your deals. I have always been a coupon user. But I never knew how much more to it there was until I found your website. You have really taught me a lesson or 2 on how to really get your moneys worth out of coupons. I am saddened to see you go but your right ...family is most important and you have to do what is right for you. I hope every once in awhile you still get on to show us some of your deals...that would be awesome. It was nice following your blog ....take care.
I feel bereft. I have so enjoyed coming to your site daily. I understand your decision and have the utmost respec for you. As a newbie in NorCal, I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful a resource you have been. I am so sad but I know you must do what is best for you and your family. You will definitely be missed. You have done a tremendous job here an although I haven't commented much, I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Thank you for setting me on the right path and I wish you nothing but peace and love. Take care and God Bless you, Coupon Clippin' Mama!
I will miss reading your blog, but what a great testimony to other people that God and family should be the most important part of our lives. I pray God will bless you and your family!
I have loved your blog, but I think that it is wonderful that you will have more time with your children. Thank you for everything you've shared. I'm a wife and a graduate student who had to take medical leave, and your blogs have helped me stretch my husband's income. Enjoy your time with your kids. I think you've made a great, if difficult, decision!
I shared with my class your decision and here are the comments:
Don't go coupon clippin mama!!
Come on mama, we miss you!
Oh no!! CCM come back!!
I tried to leave the message of their comments but your phone did not go to voice mail.
All the way from New York... I didn't realize this site was "Amy's". We met several years ago. Before you were married. Anyway, you have been a great resource, providing lots of great ideas. Thank you! Though you may have a heavy heart in saying "good-bye" to your site, as you know, you will not regret this in the big picture. You have made quite an impact in getting so many moms started on the journey of "coupon clipping". What a neat blessing you were able to give so many! Enjoy finding some extra time to spend with your little ones. You will be thought of. ~Jaime Warta
Amy - thank you for all the helpful information you have provided. I have really enjoyed your blog. Family does come first though. God Bless you and your family.
You will be missed!
Thank you sooooooooooo much. You have truly been a blessing!!!!!
I TOTALLY understand. Family is first. You are awesome for all of the work you did on the blog -- THANK YOU! May God bless (I'm sure he already has ;) )
I think your decision is a wise one and you are so right about making it. You will be missed, but I think everyone reading this will understand.
A couple of years ago I had a blog about weight loss. I had many many followers and it consumed so much of my time. After a few months I became burned out and realized that I was missing my beautiful boys while they were so little and needed me so much, even though they were only in the next room. I shut the site down and never looked back.
Family is first. As long as you already realize that, then you all will be just fine. Good luck and may God bless you in everything you do. Take care.
Your blog was the first one i started reading.I have saved a lot ever since.Kudos on your decision.I can imagine how difficult it would have been juggling kids and blogging(which is very addictive). It used to give me a complex how some women could manage both so easily. But its nice to know we can't be superhuman.Kids are priority.Don't want them complaining that U loved blogging more than them....ha..ha.. May be you will be back after all the kids are in school. All the Best.
You will be missed. Good for you to identify this and move to correct it. God Bless!
Amy, I've been reading your blog since the beginning and I watched you enter one or two blogs every few days, to several blog posts a day!! i can't even imagine how much work that is, too not only write them but all the research and information you provided within every blog. In fact, just the other day I was talking with a friend about how I didn't know how you do it, especially w/ four young children. I only have two and can't keep with you! Thank you for reminding all mommies, myself included, to focus what is the priority right now. I, like you, am in the mission field of raising my daughters. My husband works hard every day for us so that I can do so. I don't want to let him down or God! Thanks for the reminder of where my priorities should be! I so admire all that you do, and appreciate your honesty with all your readers! I'll still clip some coupons to help us save a few bucks, but won't let it "run" my day ;) Thanks for inspiring so many!!!
Emily
Amy,
Thank you for sharing your time, energy, and most of all your hard work with all of us!! I really appreciate it!!
God Bless you and your family
Jana KY
I understand, it's a lot of work & your family absolutely should come first. They grow up too fast (my baby just turned 15) and you don't want to miss a minute.
Having said that - I'll miss you. Even though I'm halfway across the country and don't have most of the stores you do (and my Kmart doesn't do doubles) your blog has had a lot of helpful information.
God bless you & your family!
Amy
I am still kinda new to couponing and go to your site and others like yours everyday. I will miss you but family always comes first. May God bless you and your family and take care of those kids and enjoy all the joy and blessings that they will bring you.
Take care
Jean
Thank you for all you've done through your blog and for your powerful testimony! You will be missed, (especially at K-Mart doubles time!!) but you will never, ever regret keeping your eyes and your heart fixed on the Lord and being obedient to the Holy Spirit. I've experienced similar struggles determining what is my will and the will of my Lord and making tough decisions with my husband. We'll be here out in cyber-space if it His will for you to return. Keep saving and God bless you and yours.
I just recently found your blog as I'm relatively new to couponing and your site has been SO helpful. Thank you for all the information you have provided.
I am so proud of you for making such a wonderful decision for you and your family. I know personally how difficult these decisions can be to make. Your babies and your hubby will appreciate having their "Mama" back full-time and I wish you all many blessings in your future!!!
Thanks for you hard work. I will miss your blog but understand your decision completely.
There will always be laundry...follow your heart and be with those lil ones & the hub!
You will be sadly missed, but I know you will never regret your decision! We all understand how you feel, and many of us supposed SAHMs know what you are going through! Hope to see you on the other side!
Your blog is the first one I go to when I am looking to see if there are any good deals out there. It is rather funny to think a couple of weeks ago that I thought to myself, "Good Grief! She puts so much time into this. Hopefully she is getting some kind of compensation from the stores or companies for all this work...besides the coupon savings."
My blessings to you and your family.
Good for you!! Time not spent with your little ones is time that can never be replaced. I applaud your decision and your ability to notice that the blog was taking away from your quality time.
You'll be missed.
Thanks for all the great deals and savings you found for my family.
